The Weight of Dreams and Stars

I had that dream years back during the lockdown in COVID but that dream stands out to me to this day because of how i felt.So for context, during lockdown my outings were limited to walking downstairs in my apartment at night thriugh which i really started enjoying stargazing. There was this particular lane in my apartment where i enjoyed it the best and i wished i could just lay down there and look at the sky but it wasnt obviously possible as the lane was for cars and people walking in the apartment. So the dream goes something like this from how i can describe it- I was in this position of laying down and looking at the sky but slightly levitating which enabled my back not touching the ground i was taking my usual rounds of the apartment i was right at the turn to my favourite lane as i was ooking at the stars in the sky and there were way too many bright and shining stars (more than usual in our day to day night sky) and they were so bright and golden and there was this onr beautiful glowing blue round mass or entity? enclosed by a mix of daek blue and golden circle which stood out the most then slowly that sphere started rotating and nearing closer and closer to the earth and right infront of me and it got bigger and bigger as it neared and then suddenly everything was engulfed by it and as it did everything was a very dark grey almost black with specks of random graphics i'm not sure about. So as i was in this dark space i could physically feel crushed and my body getting into intense folds.During the dream i rememebr thinking "maybe this is what dying or death feels like'This dream stands out to me mainly only because of that physical contact i felt. My body genuinely physically felt i was being crushed and folded and swallowed ish i really dont know how to explain.Usually i dont think i actually feel anything physical during the dream like pain or whatever no matter how dangerous the situation may be. When i woke up as well there was nobody in my room or anything or anyonw who had entered or any possibikity like that every curcumstance as soon as i woke up was normal i wasnt feeling too hot because of my blanket or anything potentially of that sort.
The dream you described is rich in imagery and emotion, and it reflects deep themes that connect to your experiences during the COVID-19 lockdown. Dreams often serve as a reflection of our subconscious mind, integrally linked to our thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Let's unpack the elements of your dream to better understand its meaning.
Key Themes and Elements
-
Levitating and Stargazing: The act of laying down and looking at the stars while levitating suggests a desire for escape and transcendence. During the lockdown, you were likely feeling confined and sought solace in the beauty of the night sky. This element of the dream speaks to your longing for freedom, connection to nature, and the desire to explore the unknown.
-
Bright Stars and the Blue Sphere: The abundance of bright, golden stars represents hope, dreams, and possibilities. They symbolize the beauty and wonder that can be found even in difficult times. The glowing blue sphere can indicate a source of enlightenment or a significant event on the horizon. This could be reflective of a personal insight or revelation you were experiencing during the lockdown.
-
The Transition to Darkness: As the blue sphere envelops everything in dark grey and black, it represents a shift from hope and clarity into uncertainty and fear. This transition may correlate to feelings of anxiety, confusion, or despair you were experiencing while grappling with the realities of the lockdown and the pervasive fear of illness and death associated with COVID-19.
-
Physical Sensation of Being Crushed: Experiencing the sensation of being crushed in a dream is notably significant; it often signifies feelings of being overwhelmed or a sense of losing control. This could be a manifestation of the pressures of isolation, the anxiety of the unknown, or existential fears triggered by the pandemic. The thought, “maybe this is what dying or death feels like,” points to a confrontation with mortality and change. It suggests that during this time, you may have grappled with thoughts on life, death, and what the future holds amidst the ongoing crisis.
-
Awakening to Normality: Waking up to a typical environment without disturbances suggests a return to reality after this tumultuous experience. The absence of any triggers in your real environment reinforces that the intense sensations you felt were rooted in the dream state and reflect your deeper psyche rather than a physical reality.
Interpretation
Overall, your dream encapsulates the profound emotional struggles you faced during a time of societal upheaval and personal reflection. The juxtaposition of soaring through a starry sky against the sensation of being crushed exhibits the tension between yearning for freedom and feeling restricted.
This dream may serve as a reminder to acknowledge the complexity of feelings – hope and despair living side by side. Your experience also highlights the importance of exploring your feelings regarding uncertainty and control, especially in the context of experiencing profound changes.
The vivid nature of this dream and the physical sensations you encountered may indicate that it’s an important part of your emotional journey. Consider reflecting on how you have grown since that time, the insights you've gained, and how you can translate that into your current state of being. This dream stands out because it bridges the gap between fear and fascination – two very real aspects of your experience during that challenging time.
